Hi there, I'm about to use one of these

any tips? I've used foam filler before loads but never the pro stuff from a gun like this.

If I do a bit (I'm going to use it to flll in around a door lining or 2), can I stop and then start again? Any tips gratefully received.

Thanks noseall. Am I right in thinking then that if you stop working for long the stuff will dry in the gun and completely knacker it?

I use one of those guns everyday at work. Honestly they are so easy to use, just don't get trigger happy.
Remember to spray a fine mist of water onto the surfaces your filling. It increases the "grab" of the foam, plus makes the foam go further.

As far as the maintenance of the gun is concerned. It should be ok all the time the can is connected to the gun (shutting the valve when not in use).
problems can arise when the can is removed and the gun isn't cleaned/flushed out.
This wont be a problem if you bought a can of foam cleaner.

Thanks Jack, I was hoping they were easier to use than the DIY cans which are sometimes difficult to reuse.
So, if I finish for the night but have more to do the next day, do I leave the can connected and just plug up the plastic tube (closing the screw valve at the back when not in use as you say)? Or do I need to disconnect the can and flush with the foam cleaner (yes I did buy some).

Just close the screw valve and it'll be fine in the morning.
The worst that might happen is when you use it in the morning, any foam residue around the tip, may cause the foam to shoot out at right angles/multiple directions!
Just gently scrape residue off with a knife and your good to go.

I got the no nonsense foam and cleaner. So if I dont plan to use the foam gun in the near future, should i use the foam cleaner to flush the gun OR keep the foam canister on he gun (as it says in the no nonsense instructions)?
