hi all just want abit of advice im building a wall in my garden about 1.5 meters high double skin but when i dug for the footings its all clay and it peed it down so now left with bog so yea if you stand on it you sink will it be ok just to put concrete straight in ? thanks.

Just before you are ready to pour, bail out the trench and 'bottom up'.

This means just getting rid of the mushy stuff out of the trench bottom as best you can. We try and scrape the shovel walking backwards or else the wellies end up mushing the ground and you start all over again!

thanks for your reply. thats exactly what ill do i was worried incase i had to gravel it first. im also worried incase it sinks with all the weight once the wall is up should it be ok ?
