Ford Capri 2.8i 5 speed gear box question

The question is:-

Has anyone fitted an alternative gearbox to a Capri 2.8i 5SPEED as the original is soooooooooo weak.

Ah, I had one of these, many years ago.

The four speed was more robust. I seem to remember reading something about the gearbox from the XR4i being used in a capri. I can't remember if it is the same box or a different box with the same bell housing fittings. Please check further before you buy one.

How comes you keep breaking them?

MTX75 from a late sierra or granny but u need a specail bell housing
