Ford Fiesta electrical problem

Can anybody help please?
My Ford fiesta radio and mileage display keep switching on and off constantly.
Any ideas on what could be wrong and is it safe to continue driving until fixed?

How old is the car?
Could just be a loose connection.

does the mileage display still go off, if the radio is not turned on?

Yes, the mileage displays are going on and off all of the time whether the radio is on or not.

The car is 1100cc and 06 reg if any help

I seem to have a similar problem with my fiesta. My radio display turns off, then turns back on in a few seconds, the about 20 seconds later the radio itself turns off.
