Ford Fiesta MK8 using OBD-II for Dashcam

I've just bought an Apeman C860 Dashcam.
The supplier is providing me with a car kit foc but it uses the OBD-II on my Fiesta 2018 MK8 car

Has anyone heard of this being used for a dash cam and is it a good idea to do so please?

Never heard of them but the lead seems like a nice idea.

I guess it's just using the OBD port for a power supply, so there shouldn't be any problem with that.

I've got one of those apeman cams, very good for the pennies it cost. Mine is just wired to a permanent 12v. I would suggest that you don't skimp on the memory card - anything cheap will only last a short time as they get a hammering.
