Hi Guys
just found this forum and am looking for advice.
I bought recently a 1996 Ford fiesta with 36K on the clock.
I had some battery trouble and bought a new one. The atlernator seems ok as its charging at 14v. Although when i am starting in the morning it is now trying for a few seconds before the engine starts. I have to rev it and the battery light and oil light goes out. There is enough oil in the sump. When its started i have to keep the revs up for about 20 seconds because if i dont it will die and cut out. I have looked at the accelerator cable amd sprayed wd40 on to keep it clean. Its not great for accelerating.

any advice, will i change the plugs?

Steve

Can you provide a bit more information on the engine please? Petrol or Diesel? Injection, carb etc? Manual or automatic choke?

sorry spark123. its a 1.1l petrol. I dont have the manual, so specs are unavailable. its a fiesta classic, the older looking model

sorry again , i omitted that its an automatic choke

Thanks

I was just thinking the same thing. I will check it out
