changed the battery and starter motor yesterday and car started up ok , went for a run in the car and refueled with unleaded petrol (definately) car would not then restart , managed to get the car home and retried this morning with a few sprays of easy start , seems as if the engine is starting momentarily with the easy start but then going off again , as if there's no fuel getting to engine or something, could something have frozen up ?, also new set of spark plugs fitted forgot to mention
help please

Usually the coil packs on those engines that give trouble. But they usually go down on one cylinder first. This would cause the engine to miss fire on a cylinder.
You will see the plug leads going into a box on the nearside of the engine. That block gives the trouble, any good motor factor will have one.

It may also be the fuel pump in the fuel tank not supplying fuel. Check fuses and relays for bad connection. If you carefully disconnect the fuel line you will see if its working. Switch the ignition on for a brief period and you will see the petrol coming up the pipe.

Petrol will ignite at very low temperature so be careful.
