Quick question for my inlaws ! They have a ford focus diesel that has suddenly developed a fault, from what they told me it has a fault causing it to stall but not when idol or waiting in traffic it's when they are turning I.e corners roundabouts, on most trips it will do it 2-3 times, they mentioned the panel where the mileage is says power steering fault, they are thinking of part exchanging car because they don't want to waste money repairing it, do anyone know if it's a common fault easy fix or exspensive sounding fix

Could be a fuel or electrical fault. The best thing to do is take it to a diesel specialist, they usually know what they are doing.

Not sure of the age but guessing quite young with electric power steering, so get your local garage to plug the car in, to read the fault codes. Not necessary to go to main dealer.
Usually calibration or steering angle sensor/strain sensor. But the fault code will narrow it down.

If its older with hydraulic power steering (in the handbook you will be advised to top the fluid level up?) its an engine fault and again hopefully, it put up a fault code to help with repair. Regardless, they will clear the fault codes for you, don't go trading up with a fault light on in the dash, if it can be avoided.

Then decide whether to trade or not?
