Ford KA catching under braking

Have a 3 year old Ford KA, just out of warranty... It recently started making a catching sound under light braking on the front near side tyre.
It seems to happen every rotation.
Have had it in to for the brakes to be done 3 times now, even had the shock mounts replaced as there was excessive play on the side concerned but still the problem remains.
It almost sounds like a sheild or something is catching but the garage assures me there is no evidence of this.
Has anyone had this problem or know anyone who has? HELP!!!!

You need to take the car to a different garage.

I had a similar problem on a fiesta a few years ago after I changed the pads, if I remember right it was something simple like a spring clip fitted the wrong way around.
