I have recently bought a Ford Ka (R Reg 1998) which when I bought it had central locking (not remote). However, recently it has stopped working. Is it likely that I've done something I shouldn't have and any ideas to rectify the situation?

Would be extremely grateful if someone could shed some light on the problem. Cheers

What are the symptoms of the problem? Just stopped working all together or do the doors open themselves again when locked?

Each door now needs to be locked manually either by putting the key in the lock or by pushing in the handle from inside - but they don't all lock simultaneously as before.

I have known there to be problems where the wiring comes out of the door and connects into the body - this part flexes each time the car door is opened and closed causing snapped wires.
Does you car have ABS? (Affects the layout of the fuses only!)
