ford mondeo handbrake

hi i have just stripped the brakes on my 02 mondeo new discs pads same caliper cleaned all the guides for the pads to run on the caliper everything fine came to attach the secondary cables in to the lever on the caliper can get one side in cant get the other side in about 5mm short have pushed lever forward before the piston hits the pads both levers are resting on the allen key bolt acting as a stop have checked the mech at the lever in the car
the primary cable is taught anybody got any ideas much appreciate advice thanks

I hate to be the one to ask the simplest question but, have you slackened the cable adjuster off?

hi stivino thanks for replying not a stupid question the haynes manual doesn't mention anything about an adjuster will it be at the cable equalizer cheers

I've had to do that on a Mondeo tbh. Just check the along the cable and you should see it.
