Just got an 11 plate.

Love it, but am disappointed by the build quality inside. Window rubbers hanging off, dash plastics a poor match and fit etc...

Anyone else not happy with theirs?

Wouldn't have one.
Had one whilst my VW was in for repair (hit by a Tranny from behind) Bitter, me?

Had one a while ago, it came back from service, slightly worse than when it went it, including stored in the yard so long the radio code was lost, and they tried to charge for providing a new code, and while in their 'secure' yard, the aerial was stolen.

And when I first pulled up at lights, a load of loose screws and bolts got trapped under the pedals. Presumably from what had not been refitted.

Ford. Good cars, bad service.

Well, I've only done 400 miles in it so far, so not experienced the service yet.

Engine noise seems to intrude a lot, a lot of tappety rattling noises? That a 2.2 TDCi characteristic?

Sure that the 2.2 Mondeo hire car I drove was not like that.

You cannot compare a car to a work van.

I`ll rephrase, a ford car to a ford van.

No, you can't.

I was trying to compare the engine in each vehicle. Maybe the Tranny has very little sound-proofing?

400 miles and you already seem underwhelmed by it. Doesn't bode well for the long term.

I had one for a couple of weeks, as i said, glad to hand it back.

That will make a big difference.
The X type also has the same engine, well, at least some of it. Yet you can't compare the two.

All the TDCi engines are pretty noisy for diesels. Very good engines though, i'm sure the new transit engine has a different common rail than the other versions and makes it a little bit more rattly.
