I’m renovating an old building, and need to replace the current window.

Upon inspection the lintel seems to be a bit of wood, similar to a scaffolding board rammed in.

The walls are 9” solid brick.

Could I replace with two concrete lintels (one for each skin) or is this opening too large for concrete, and something needed.

Width of the window aperture is around 1600mm.

TIA

A Stressed concrete lintel will easily span 1500mm.
But there are other factors to be taken into account besides span?
There are also various kinds of lintels that might be more suitable for your circumstances - why not call Mfr's?

Cheers for that, I called a couple of manufacturers and they were closed or email your enquiry.

Thought I may get a starter for 10 on here, and wether or not concrete lintels are out of the question. Thinking about it, the building has stood up all this time with some wood wedged in it, so perhaps I shouldn't worry!
