PME system, 1990's Installation, 2 boards used instead of a standard Split-Load.

Amongst other things, look at the labelling and CB ratings on the grey CU.....

True, but was just thinking, what if it REALLY is the wrong rating?

I didn't try turning off the CB to check.
 
Unless the cable somehow overloaded there wouldnt be an issue as there probably hasn't been in the 30 years its been there.

Still not right obviously.

Fair enough.

Just goes to show though how long things that are/ could be potentially dangerous, although not caused a problem to date, could be in place for many years.

Ring circuits are the worst, I bet there's plenty of those out there that are no longer rings and could be overload but it doesn't happen very often, luckily.

Check your one out though you could swap it onto the 6 amp with the other lights if you had to.

On side note, the previous owner's son is an Electrician, and works for a very long (1960's) Est. Firm,.... just saying......
