Good Morning All ,

I hope someone will point me in the correct direction.

I have a small (2m long) two course high with copings garden wall to build.

It is going to be built using 450 L x 140 H x 100 wide concrete blocks with a concrete coping on top , so total block height inc mortar will be 300mm.

It is purely to mark a boundary and will not be retaining or carrying any load.

The ground type is heavy clay and undisturbed.

My question is what size of concrete foundation will I need for this.

I have read that a 100mm deep by 300mm wide would be sufficient , but have also read that it needs to be 300mm deep elsewhere.

Or if I dig a 300mm by 300mm trench and fill with compacted hardcore would that be suitable to lay directly upon?

Many Thanks in advance for any help

Best regards

Glenn
