Hello,

I am building a garden office 9m x 5.5m with a height of 2.5m

The foundations are ready for inspection and i just wanted to check the DPC level. See the pic attached

THere is one eng brick below ground level, is this okay? I was told today might be a issue

This is a garden office

thanks

Can you expand on that as I was told told by a "builder" i need to have a 225mm block on the concrete footing and then the 3 courses of bricks

The builder was clueless?

I can't think of any other possible reason

There may have been a misunderstanding.

The cavity needs to be filled to 225mm below DPC. Trench blocks are therefore used to 1 block (3 bricks) below DPC.

In your case the mass fill comes up to the required level so no need.
