We hear from hard-line women saying they want to wear this clothing, but what do the women in France not allowed out by themselves think?

My guess is that the majority of them would prefer a less drastic set of attire. JMHO.

I'm a pretty liberal sort of bloke - live and let live and all that. However, whenever I pass someone dressed in a Burkha I can't seem to stop singing the theme tune to the 1960's Batman TV series.

France has the right idea, we, however accept the Burka on photographic identity cards ie, driving licences etc
Signs in some of our shops, state motorcyclists will not be served wearing a full helmet.

on the upside most of em have moustaches, bad teeth and wonky eyes (something to do with inbreeding/marrying 1st cousins etc) so I'd rather not see their ugly mugs!
