I am trying to change the cartridge in our Franke Gottard tap. I have undone the grub screw and removed the tap lever, but cannot get at the brass nut which secures the cartridge inside the body of the tap. Franke say that it needs a box spanner, but there does not seem to be enough room to get a spanner in as the ones I have are too thick. Has anyone any ideas please?

In the past I've chosen a box spanner of the correct size and ground the exterior thickness down using an angle grinder.
