French Doors

I have been let down by a window fitter, priced me up for 3 windows and a new set french doors in UPVC, windows fitted but he has messed me about with the doors so had enough of his "I will be there this weekend I promise" and told him to forget it.

Any way I don't know what to do now, its to replace wooden french doors so standard size 5' doors. Been priced by a proper company @ £810 fitted. It was mentioned to me earlier to look at wickes etc, this is the problem now. Homebase £429 but with only 1 year Warranty but look sturdier than the ones from Wickes and Screwfix both at £500 but with 10 Years warranty.

Can get fitted for a further £100 but not sure the quality from the big sheds is any good?

Any body with any experience with any of the above?

Not very good quality from the DIY stores (I don't think Ive ever been that polite about them before).

£810 fitted by a proper company is a very good price! Does that include a Fensa certificate (assuming its not newbuild) and 10 year guarantee on fitting.

What make are their doors?

Assuming its a good make You could ask them for a supply only price.
But the extra £100-200 or so it costs for the 10 year fitting guarantee is priceless unless your perfectly happy with heel and toeing doors and adjusting hinges yourself for the next ten years that is.
