Front garden wall finished yesterday. Temps have been around 8C during the day and 4C at night. Tomorrow night it says getting down to -1C.

so the mortar will have had just over 48 hours before we have this heavy frost.

Has it had long enough to not be affected? Should I cover it? Or am I totally screwed?!

I'd be more concerned about the weather people actually getting their forecast right, than the mortar.

But let us know on Tuesday.

Hmmmm.... just suppose for once they get it right and it was -1C 48 hours after bricking.... am I going to cry when my mortar spalls or am I over the danger time?

Once the mortar has set, next day, you are ok.
We are not into the proper cold nights yet anyway, and a bit of minus degree air temperature for just a few hours does not translate into freezing walls.

Freezing frosts are the things to watch for and protect against.
