Fujifilm Cameras

So would you think a canon 5d rather than say a sony A7111 mirrorless? I have set a budget of £2500 so looking at used rather than new
The 5d mk4 is 10 years old almost, canon has shifted to mirrorless. Which is their R series

If you can get one for under 1k, that leaves 1500 for two L-series and maybe a flash 580 Ex is good.

The 5d was the benchmark for any self respecting wedding’tog. Though I have seen some try to wing it with cheaper stuff.

Having said all that. I am happy with my iPhone and frequently use my meta glasses for convenience

I work in some real beautiful places and stunning scenery so it ill be used at work as well as weekends so it will get some use, I just never seem happy with the pictures out of my phone

These are not cameras that you can just point and shoot. They can be incredibly frustrating if you don’t set them up properly

I’ve always wondered if the Nikon p900 is as good as I’ve heard ?
|I have done some research on that and the newer p1100. Very mixed reviews, some love it but others say because it has a fixed lens it is a bit limiting and a bit of a niche camera.

I have no doubts that they are difficult to master but I suppose you can only get better with practice

They will do a good job in full auto mode. But many pick the hobby up based on good iPhone results only to find they don’t have the passion for the setup.

You haven’t said what sort of photography you want to do?

Or is this part of your plan to buy a superyacht. Mr and mrs highwayman onlyfans ?

what do you plan to do with the photos - print out large using a dyesub printer for high quality which i used to do

what pictures are you taking - lens speed , wideangle , telephoto ????

igone digital zoom that you can do on a computer, optical is what you need

i think you may need to shortlist things down, ignore the body for now and look at the lenses - and what you a) want to lug about and b) pay

so Canon L lenses - what lenses and how much are they
then speed of lens - apurture - i think mentioned
I had a 50mm 1.8 for that reason and a 135 f2

2,500 all in lenses , body , flash

thats where my niece is with her sony dsc-hx400 now , loved iphone photos - now just uses auto, if bothered to get that camera out

Why NOT ???
if you can identify that maybe will help point the way to the system you may want

are you going to be happy lugging a body and a few lenses around ??

i used dpreview a lot when advising on camera etc - did have own photo site and forum for a while

I started with an EOS5 film camera ,back in 1993 ish and so moved on from there , pretty much all canon, so a little biased , i also liked how it operated in my hand all the controls , etc so i could quickly get the shot i wanted lock focus, lock exposure etc , have a mate who is all nikon full frame now

did quite a few weddings on film eos5 as well

you may want to add in a tripod good quality - sturdy

100 o 500 telephoto lens which is equivelent to a 1000mm full frame lens for a fraction of the cost of a full frame lens of the same focal length
For what use - based on price and deals you will end up with a lot of kit , if you dont know WHY you want for what type of photography

I used a 75-300 mm on a 2x converter for cricket photos once , but i think that was the only time i wanted that type of lens 500-1000 would be too much unless into wildlife - and WHAT speed is the lens -

Maybe some black friday deals coming up

The type of photography I was thinking at first was wildlife, I love nature and animals in general. I like the look of street photography too, I like the artistic type of street photography. I also like the look of landscape photography too. I think it is a bit of this and a bit of that type of photography.

Ok,
so
wide angle for landscape - 28mm equivalent - tripod
maybe a 50mm or equivalent for street - 50 F1.8 are cheap and good lens for street
wildlife - telephoto - but maybe a fast lens 2.8 etc to get the blurred background - this may be anything 200-500mm - but will pay for fast lens - tripod

maybe a good quality couple of zoom - and a 50mm - and then a macro lens maybe

fast lens

do you understand exposure relationship - speed, aperture, sensitivity ISO

Yes been looking into the exposure triangle and sort of get it that if you adjust 1 you alter the other two. Only thing I am not quite getting is this depth of field, ie 2.8 and f8 or f11 etc. I am struggling a bit because I assumed you would want everything in focus but that doesnt seem to be the case.
