Amazing fact, I have read countless books now and really got into photography in a big way, Lena says that I am obsessed with the subject. The really strange thing is nomatter how obsessed I have become, I havent actually taken a single picture with my camera, I have bought a fair few lenses and invested a fair chunk of money into the hobby, I set a budget of 5k to play around with but I have exceeded this figure. Time to get out with it and especially now I am on long term sick of at least another month.

I looked at iphones with good zoom lenses when replacing my last one. before realising most pictures need standard or wide angle lens. Different if you are going for wildlife or other distant objects where the depth of field is an important part of the shot/composition.

yes I looked at the iphone 17 too, great for travelphotography but for anything more serious I am happy with my choice of camera.

sorry to hear you are not well, wow - missing all that beautiful winter & spring opportunities , get your bum out if you can now
I am going to get out with it now, I have a few places in mind to test every thing out. Luckily I live in a great area for photography opportunities

The ones I got were 4TB each rather than the 6TB, I didn't think it was worth it to get the bigger ones as I doubt I will use the 4TB let alone 6

you will be amazed how quiclly you use up space on photography large files and edits and manipulation if you go down that route - My Nicon 35mm scanner used to produce large files and then in photoshop with many layers soo got large and versiion control

i have been looking at that sort of thing - but just got very expensive as an intital outlay fr it - i think i was looking at raid 6 - which means a loto redundancy - then also looking at a diasaster and what i had to do for backup - all got a lot more confusing and expensive at best setup , thinking of , fire/flood and theft issue

The reason I opted for the Ugreen one is simplicity, it has got great reviews and is quite a simple setup process, at the moment I have just an external drive which I think is ok but if it went wrong or I lost it would be quite bad so I think this Ugreen one is a great sollution, you can access it from your phone too or from a pc anywhere wherever you are.

Amazon offer a setup and install service for £59 where someone brings it to you and sets it all up for you, I have not opted for this as I watched a few videos on youtube on setup and it reallly is quite simple to do, apparantly silent in operation too as you cant hear them working. You just see the leds flickering away like a. router
