Gable end collapse

Saw this photo and thought there must be more to this than just the weight of a bit of snow,not being a structural engineer how did this happen as surely the load would have been downwards on the wall,hopefully someone can explain in fairly simple terms,mods move if wrong area.

It was a cantilevered carport.

It was plain to be seen the car port cantilever would take the gable down. Bricks stacked on top of each other is a weak form of construction.
Had it been shuttered then no problems.


The catilever on top of these was over 50 feet long and designed for snow loading and big winds.
Re bars were as thick as your arms. I know because I had to wrestle with them.
