hi i've been planning to rerender the gable end, but it'll cost me 1500 all in, so i thought about coveringit with flexcry one coal roofing paint, to see if this will sort the problem. once i cover it with that well thats that. will have to wire the gabble end if it don't work and then render as nothing will go on top of the flexacryl, what i want to know is it bad to cover the gabble end with a paint that won't let water or out. and is this a good idea, i recon it might just do the job.

Hi. This sounds like a terrible idea. Apart from giving you a wall that can't breathe it will probably end up still looking like a wall that needs re-rendering, but has been coated in roofing gunk. Do they do any colour apart from black - yuk! I think I'd bite the bullet on this one and do the job properly. This is a good time to get building work done so get a few quotes.
