My shower unit is only 9mths old but I have to turn the dial to the highest temp to get even lukewarm water. Advice appreciated please as the store I purchased it from discontinued the line and I don't really want to take it down anyway!

Dis-continued or not the store has a legal obligations to carry out any actions that the guarantee required them to do. If the guarantee was for a year then the store that sold it has a duty to arrange for it to be repaired or replaced.

( a friend has just "won" a similar fight with a well known store who gave in when the letter to them was also copied to the Trading Standards Office for the stores location )

Thankyou for your quick reply I have now been in touch with the store and they are going to replace the unit

Don't buy a Gainsborough.

I now knock back jobs where there is a new Gainsborough shower involved.

Prior to this I wired 5 Gainsborough showers and 4 were faulty.

In my opinion they are a pile of tat.

Sorry to cheer you up, but it needed to be said.

Well, my Gainsborough lasted 2.5 years before conking out, so, for £50, it could have been worse!
