Galaxy G2 open zone fault

Hi all, I recently posted a question asking about a 24h contact with override key switch (http://tinyurl.com/jdtyw6f) I have installed the zone with the key switch to shunt the contact with so the gate can be opened without the alarm activating, however I am now getting an open signal from the zone and cant for the life of me work out why, the contact is a sealed metal unit with a armoured cable going into a junction box for the wiring. Does anyone have any ideas?
