Hi,
I'm about to lay a hearth made of thick quarry tiles L/W/H:150mm x 150mm x 15mm. As it is a fireplace recess (790mm wide), I need to start in the middle but that leaves me with a gap of 18mm each side at the front of the recess and 0.9mm each side at the back, less if I include the spacers for the edge gap. The side of the walls aren't even. The problem I have is only in the recess, I don't have a problem tiling in front of the recess since there are no restrictions. I have 3mm spacers, I could increase these to 5mm but there would still be a concerning gap. If I were to cut extremely thin edging tiles of less than 10mm to fit in the gap, I don't think it would stay in place when I'll put the grout. Does anybody have a solution?
Many thanks!
