Gap between dry verge caps and bargeboard?

Is this allowed?

As I posted in another thread, I've got a 40-50mm overhang and there doesn't appear that dry verge caps exist that cover more than a 30mm overhang.

Is a gap allowed, or do dry verge caps have to be completely flat against the bargeboard?
