Gap between paving and gravel board

Hi all

We’re just installing a new fence

We have the posts in and now know where the gravel boards need to sit

There is a patio next to the fence but there’s a bit of a gap between the patio and the gravel boards all the way along

This gap is currently just soil

My partner has suggested putting concrete in the gap which I’m ok with although I don’t have a ton of experience with concrete (I’ve done it a few times a long time ago)

Just wondered if anyone had any alternative solutions, or if not, any advice on the concrete?

I guess that I will need to make sure that water can flow away from the boards - so I was thinking I would make the boards sit a little higher than the patio and slope the concrete down towards it a little.

Also any advice on how stiff to make the concrete?

Thanks in advance!

Oh that’s really interesting - I like the idea that we could then move it around til it was right - I’ll float that idea!
