Hi there,

I have a gap between my upvc door (very old!) and external wall (approx 5mm). Directly above, there is also a gap between the coving and wall.

Does this look structural or simply a case of it needing to be filled and redecorated?

The door opens smoothly.

The external brickwork looks ok from outside. I’m just concerned by all the gaps!

Thanks for your thoughts!

Poor quality work, not a structural issue.
Cut with a Stanley knife and apply a low modulus or specific frame sealant - silicone or acetoxy sealant. Not the 99p stuff for around the bath and sink.
