I have a new-build detached garage and am looking to upgrade it into a usable space as an exercise room / home office. It will not be an actual "garage conversion" though - the garage door will remain in place and there will not be any structural changes or installation of plumbing etc - just some electrics and cupboards.
I'm therefore looking to insulate the garage as much as possible by insulating the cavity wall and the garage door as well as installing a ceiling with insulation on top. The cavity walls are not sealed at the top - currently, I can go up a ladder and look right down into the cavity.
My question therefore is: Given that I can easily access the cavity, could I just shove a load of rockwool into the cavity from the top? Or is this still a job for the professionals to fill it with foam / beads?
Thanks.
