Garage Conversion Thoughts

Ok, looking for your views/ideas on this one .

My house is technically a bungalow but due to the land, it actually has a basement and a garage below the main building.

The garage is a decent size but the only access to it is through the main garage door.

We are looking to get a bit more space in the house as my wife really needs a small office space which we just can't accommodate in the house.

So I'm wondering about using the garage, or part of it. But, how would you view a house with a lower level office space/extra room behind the garage? It'd have its own door, but still, it would be self contained .

Just wondering whether or not it would be a good idea . Access to central heating and electric is easy as everything runs througj the basement so no floors would need lifted.

I don't see why it's any different to having an office in a separate garage or summer house in the garden.

I suppose you're right. Next will be figuring out if I'm capable of doing much of the work myself
