Thinking of doing a garage conversion. It is a block garage with pebbledash. Was thinking, to maximise internal space, would it be feasible to use insulated blocks (like this http://www.quinn-buildingproducts.com/quinn-lite/ ) to built the front wall, and save on thickness of insulation. I assume I'd still need some, but maybe 25mm instead of 75mm (for instance)?

Is this a done thing, or another crazy idea?

I'd wait for someone else to chime in but I think those blocks are for use as well as a cavity wall.

You could, then render it. Could either be a solid wall or cavity.
It will move a far bit do you better use mesh in your render.
