Hi guys I was just wondering about a garage conversion that is taking place at the site that my girlfriend is renting at the moment and it seems to me it is a bit wrong.

Well the conversion is making it into a habitable bedroom however the changes that seem to be wrong are to where the garage door is. From the plans is looks as if there is no wall replacing the wall and all that is happening is the door is getting fixed in place. Is this not against regulation?

Here is a link to the planning application:

Thanks Rohit

Not if it is insulated internally

Those are planning drawings and may not contain the full b/regs specification

We did exactly the same thing on a GC in Stafford.

The customer wanted the (side hinged) doors leaving putt and windows fitted in the side.

We built an insulated 300mm cavity wall just t'uther side of the doors.
