Garage convertion to study room

I am hoping to convert myattatched garage to a study room,...............now, do I need planning permission to do this , and what are the implications of not getting planning permission for a existing building .....ie garage.?....I also want to remove the garage door and replace with a doudle glazed window?

hi

i did similar. no planning required but call your councils planning dept andcheck, also talk to building control, they gave me the specs for making sure the conversion is up to spec for insulation etc.
