Hi, we are about to commence with our garage convertion, just waiting on builder to come around and confirm start date etc.

I am planning ahead and wondering what would be the best underlay to put down on a floating floor for a decent quality carpet.

The room is mainly a play room but it will also have my treadmill in there which is a horizon 507 elite its around 120kg and just wondering if anyone recommends anything specific since I want to reduce transfer of sound and not damage carpet noticeably.

The treadmill will be folded up into a cupboard when not in use.

Cheers for any help.

When you say floating floor do you mean you will have concrete, insulation and then chipboard on top in that order?

Go running outside, free up the cupboard space ;)

Yes,
It's concrete floor with dpm on it then timbre frame with insulation then chipboard on it.

I do run outside but use my treadmill more often as my knee can't take the impact.
