It's like taking your car to the garage to be fixed and the mechanic saying" I dunno what's wrong, I need to ask someone else" In which case you may as well go to that "someone else" yourself
Unfortunately even that seems to happen more often these days . I had to suggest to a rather confuse mechanic that the poor acceleration problem on my Land Rover (under warranty at the time) may be associated with the air flow meter. A check subsequently confirmed this & it was replaced; problem sorted, for a while anyway.
