Hi, i found out last night that the output from one of my trip switches in my CU (a B32 fitted after a 30mA RCD in split load CU) feeds the garage sockets on a ring, and the garage lights are connected to a spur socket from within the ring, the house alarm and kitchen lights (in a rear extension) also connect to this trip as well.

This doesn't sound right to me, any comments ?!?!?!?

That's quite feasible, as long as its got its own means of isolation and protected by a 13A fuse. I.e a 13A FCU.
The lights should also have a 3AFCU.

Thanks for your response Luminaire.
The boiler is on a fused switch, and the alarm is on another fused switch.
The lights connect directly to the socket (spur) from the ring main.

That's great, sounds like a simple solution which is always the best way !!!

Many thanks.
