Does a domestic garage floor need to be lower than the oversite concrete of an adjacent room - the room having a suspended timer floor above it
I'm having an extension and want to divide the garage from the new dining room at the back of the garage with a stud wall - metal studs, fully insulated and fire lined.
But the garage floor is already there and in order to get the 150 mm clearance ander the joists of the room adjacent to the garage, the oversite level will be slightly lower than the garage floor. The pic shows an exaggerated diagram. Will there be a problem with this? Someone just mentioned they thought garage slabs had to be lower than oversite due to potential for spillages etc.
