Hi,

My first post in this forum and really appreciate any help on offer.

I have a garage as per the picture attached where the guttering is installed close to the roof/roofing slates which means getting your hand into the gutter to help clean our leaves etc is problematic. You can get a few fingers in at best.

Both gutters are now full of leaves, twigs etc and I need to get them cleared out by the easiest method possible. I would like to do this myself.

Is there a tool available etc that would greatly assist with emptying these gutters at height. Even if I had to pull what’s in the gutter to the lower tarmac and then it can be swept up etc.

Appreciate any views/help from the community

Best

Simon.

A stick, or screwdriver, inserted in the gap, and dragged along?

I bent a piece of 15mm copper pipe, into an upside down j. I adapted that, with a Hozelock fitting, to enable it to be plugged into the garden hose, for a final rinse along my gutters. It just hooks on to the gutter, at one end.

I have something similar, not really possible to scrape out gutter, and mine is basically under a mature beech that sheds loads of mast.

What I do (once or twice a year) is to 'blast' all the debris out with a hose. Starting near (12" away?) from the outlet and wash that part clear, then gradually move back until it is all clear.
