Hi.
I'll try and describe as best as possible.

In our garage we need 4 lights to be operated each on there own.
I've purchased two 2 gang switches which i'll use as one ways ie just using the common and L1 on each switch.

I've got the cable from each light to the appropriate switch.

I've taken a cable from the garage RCD (currently runs just sockets) to the first switch. I've joined the live and neutral to the common and L1 of the first switch Hey presto! my first light works. But how do i get the live and neutral to the following switchs? I was thinking of putting little loops between each, but some how it doesn't feel right?!!!?

Any help would be much appreciated.

cheers Zeb.

i hope your lights are fed via an mcb not an RCD

you have taken your supply to the switch, its becoming more common to do it that way, but in your case it would have been better to take the suplly to the first light, then back to thwe switch, that way you can take the supply from the first light to the 2nd then to the swicth, then from the 2nd light to the 3rd light etc

yes if you take mains to the switch then lots of cables leaving, however...
block neutrals then live to common and small links of wire between common terminals then you cables out to your fittings go to the neutral and L1 of its switch

Thanks guys! I didn't even think of taking the live to the light first, amatuer!!!
Breezer Its is an MCB. Theres two fitted side by side but both 32 amp which would surely leave my lights on fire before the breaker worked! (its a brand new house)
I do use a welder sometimes so was going to leave the socket electics at 32 amp and change the light electric to 5 amp like the house is this ok?

once again thanks

You MUST change the light MCB to a 6A or 5A. if you leave it on the 32A it is unsafe as you say.
