I am setting up a gym in my garage and would like to put in a few lights and a power supply for a heater. My garage is not connected to my house and I have neighbours between my house and the garage so I am unable to run a mains supply to it.

Does anyone know of an alternative to mains supply or using a generator?

Any help would be apreciated.

Thanks

Hi I have a similar problem!

I do not want to use a generator because of the noise and cost.

I am considering trickle charging a car battery using a solar panel. The bigger the panel the better. You can get a some good ones on ebay.

Bottom line is it will take a bit of work to install as you will need to wire up and possibly use a transformer to boost your voltage if you want 240V. Alternatively you can use some good low wattage lamps that can provide good lighting.

I want a good supply as I making a small recording studio.

Best of luck

PS with a solar panel this risk is it could be nicked. Keep of of view if possible!
