Hi,
I am new to this forum, and fairly new to DIY, got the bug though, but taking things steady and researching prior, in an effort to get things right first time.......
So, I am refurbishing my garage - its in good structural order, but I want to sort the floor out, and paint it with some garage floor paint.
I rolled back a big old rug that's been down for years (was my grandparents house prior to me moving in) and discovered two oil patches on the bare concrete floor.
So, I got Thompsons garage floor cleaner and set to work on it last night, thats removed about 50% of the oil mark - which could well have been down for 40 years....! Engine oil that is. Jet washed, hosed, brushed, it like mad - hard work....And its dried out over night just fine.
My question is can I paint over this (I guess not) or do I need to completely remove all trace of the oil.....If so, is there a better way to get rid of the oil marks ?
You advice is greatly appreciated, and sorry for such a long post.
Thanks,
Fog.
