This has been a thorn in my side for sometime, as I'm looking to get this for as little as possible and my searches are proving fruitless.

I've an 'odd' shaped door frame to the side of the garage, which currently has no door. It's 73.5" by 30" and other than cutting down a ledge and brace door I can't really see any alternates - getting a custom built door is working out at around £400. Which is way over what I'm willing to pay for this garage.

Does anyone know of an alternate? I'm unable to make the opening any larger and replace the door frame, as there is only one course of bricks above the door.

And if i did go the timber ledge and brace way, how secure do you think this would be? - I'm considering a rim lock + a yale latch.

Again, opinions/suggestions very much appreciated.

Thanks.

Cheap secondhand door from ebay or freecycle and cut it down, if you want it to look the part, clad with thin shiplap.
