I need a cable to supply my new garage. Part way it can be buried at the required 400mm min depth. However it must then come to the surface, be routed along the edge of a patio and along a wall to the cable entry point on the house.

What do i need to do to protect the cable to comply with the regs where it is out of the ground? I was thinking of a suitably sized galvanized trunking?

Regards, Rich

Supplies to a garage are notifiable work. Your electrician will know the answers.

Yes i know it is notifiable work - but is it so secret that the sparky community need to keep all the info to themselves - yes so they can charge huge amounts of money.

If you know the answer winston please tell me otherwise keep strum.

AndyPRK, thanks - i will be using swa - but i would think the cable would need additional protection obove ground? maybe not?
