Garden 12v lighting - Type of cable

Have searched around but can't find a definitive answer, want to use 2 core 2.5mm2 cable to power some 12v garden spot lights, cable will run openly under deck, and around planting areas, probably buried.

Can you use normal 2 core black PVC flex, or should i really be using rubberised stuff like HO7RN-F used in for pond lights
