Hello. I'd appreciate a bit of advice please.
I'm currently building an extension and landscaping the garden. Eventually, I'd like to put 12V lighting in the garden. I intend to have a competant electrician to carry out all the electrical work but that will be 6 months or more away and I'm now at the stage where I want to build over the areas where the cable runs will be. Ideally I'd like to bury the cables now.
The intention is to have 2 x 12V lighting circuits, one at the front and one at the back with lights at 4/5 positions in each circuit. The overall length of each circuit from the CU will be about 30M (assuming they are radial circuits). I can't actually specify the loading at this point but it will only be LCD type lighting, no power take offs.
With these distances, is it feasible to locate the LV lighting transformers indoors near to the CU or will I need to use 240V to each lighting position?
Depending on the answer, what size and type of cable should I be burying.
Thanks.
