That bit makes it sound like you're just seeing this as a good opportunity to not pay some of the money you've agreed to pay.

That's perfectly reasonable if the builder hasn't built what he agreed to build.

If the builder sues for the agreed cost then the court will want to see the requirements documents

The OP did say in the first post that 24sqm is what the 'agreed documents state'


Yes he might be one of 'those' customers, but the builder refusing to reduce the price after building a smaller structure than required makes him sound like one of 'those' builders.

If builder did not get it wrong why would he admit miscommunication. As i explained before there is written contract and builders quotation on their letter head. The details on quotation does not match what has been completed so far. So not accepting what i did not want makes me one of 'those' customer then that is factually correct.

Builders fault, if plans show size then that is what should have been built. If there was a problem with say groundwork /foundations and a reduction of overall size this should have been discussed at the time.
Do not see how it could be any ones fault other than the builder

Correct.
We build to the exacting dim’s, as per drawing. To suggest building 300mm less in each direction, is ok, is ridiculous.
