I have just purchased a LED flood and PIR to use as a security light in our garden.

I was planning to power it from a RCD socket on the ring main in the garage.

What I would like to know is what type of cable should I use to go from the socket in the garage to the light fitting? Hoping it's something I can easily get st B&Q or screwfix.

Thanks

If you mean you're going to plug it into a 13A socket, then you'll need a plug, a 3A or 5A fuse to go in it and some 1.00mm 3-core flex if the PIR and floodlight are an integral unit. If they are two separate items it probably gets a bit more complicated.
