I have moved into new house.We are designing a land scape garden.I want to put some lighting in and around the plants ,also can we put some pir,s to switch garden lighting on when someone walks into the garden at night.Where do i start from.Also thinking about water feature fountain etc.thank you.

Investigate a seperate 'garage unit' type CU for your outside power requirements, also you'll need to use armoured (SWA) cable for the supplies to lights, pumps etc. (unless you meet some very strict criteria)
PIR's can be integral to the luminaire you fit or seperate, the important thing is the IP rating (how waterproof an electrical fitting is) of the device you plan to install outside.
